I Heart Quinn's New Look

Source (http://quinnyarbaf.tumblr.com/Master+List)
Is it odd that I totally prefer Glee Quinn Fabray's new look to her old one? I am not condoning the fact that she seems to now smoke weed and no longer wash but her style movement is definitely one that inspires me.

Firstly, I love pink hair right now. It started when Anastajia from Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model got her makeover. The two sad facts are that our school forbids unnatural hair colours and even if I went completely rebellious the thickness/frizziness/curliness of my hair would make it look like candyfloss: not a good thing.

Her small round sunglasses are very trendy. They were a huge summer style staple. I think I will buy some next summer. I am limiting myself to buying one pair of sunglasses a year. One of my friends bought like seven pairs this summer! I always buy cheap sunglasses because the trends are always changing. Big sunglasses suit me best but I am always up for experimentation. I bought cat eyes this year.

The chicer of the two is definitely Quinn. When I was about ten years old I did go through the whole "I want to be a cool, popular cheerleader" stage but then I realised that the harsh reality was that firstly I live in the UK and schools are very different to schools in the US, namely, cheerleading isn't such a big thing. Secondly, I am hideously UNflexible. And thirdly, I don't think I am cut out for popularity: at least that is what I know from experience. I am really frightfully average popularity-wise. In fact, I probably have a few more haters than most: but popular girls usually do, right? Anyway, now I find that the unpopular girls are the real "cool" ones because it shows that they actually don't give a shit which really is what real "cool" is. Therefore Quinn is definitely cooler than Santanna.

Autumn Trends: Snakeskin

SNAKE SKINS. Snakesskin is the most popular, but Gucci have gone more way out with ostrich skin shoes!

At Georgio Armani python skin was used.

And Russell and Bromley, Chloe and Hunter stuck by faithful snakeskin shoes whilst Dior used the same texture for their handbags.

I have a feeling that exotic accessories are on the rise and we will be seeing a lot more of them in the near future.

MY FAVOURITE.

From Next.

All classic ballet pumps have bows on them and I love it when they have a contemporary stylish twist, like snakeskin. I have loads of moles or "beauty spots" on my feet by the way and that is why you can see them in a lot of photos.

HIGH STREET FAVE.

The high street store H&M (my favourite for bargains) has not just stuck to accessories but gone all out in head to toe snakeskin with this dress which is one of two that are available in store. On Fashion's Night Out my friend brought a tunic style snake skin dress. It looked great on her because it really suited her figure as she does a lot of sports therefore is quite muscular with broad shoulders but she always manages to dress well for her body type.

CATWALK FAVE.

Yay, Chanel! My favourite designer label that just happens to be a ridiculously expensive couturier scores another iconic, stylish piece. This bag is the classic, classy, quilted bag but with an edgy twist that nods towards rebellious. Chanel is all about rebellion however, one might think that its clothes do not reflect that as they are rarely in anyway risque unlike some other labels (ahem, Louis Vuitton) but Coco Chanel was indeed a very rebellious and oh so inspirational woman. Read more about her life story here here and here.

I have loved brightly coloured bags ever since my obsession with Cambridge Satchel Company and their fluro collection (this obsession started a while ago and I am finally going to get one for Christmas!) This bag is such a gorgeous statement piece.

Autumn Trends: Minibags

MINIBAGS. It's out with the hefty over sized bags and in with the chic, lightweight mini bag. I purchased my mini bag from high street store, Select, for only £6. Select do a range of colours and styles. Mine is patent red and you have probably seen it before as I had it on me every night on holiday. Below is another picture just in case you have not seen it:
Out of all the other colours and styles (patent black and brown is what I can remember) I chose this one because it was the most formal, the perfect evening bag. The only down side of mini bags is that they are not functional enough for the daytime. Big bags are still the only alternative. However, this season there is a new way to carry your day bag: either hold it under your arm or clutch it to your chest, both times ignoring the strap.

New Look do a wide selection with prices ranging from around £6.99 to about £12.99.

Topshop do gorgeous variations from £20-£50.

Now, taking a huge leap up the price scale, Dolce and Gabbana's sparkly Miss Sicily bag is available for £675.

Moving even further up to Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and finally Hermes (their Illico bag is a pricey £4,100) all do variations of the oh so stylish mini bag.

My favourite is the red (I think I have a thing for red mini bags at the moment) boxy Gucci 1973 bag. I was so happy when I discovered that my bag for £6.99 from Select looked almost identical to a Gucci bag. I have expensive designer taste even when I don't realise something is expensive/designer! Oh dear, I see a future of debt ahead of me... Confessions of a Shopaholic in real life incoming...

HIGH STREET FAVE.

Finally, a mini bag that I am attracted to that is not red. I like the shape of this and the shade of green is one of many bright colours that are suitable for autumn. Would look great with a red jumper and bright blue jeans.

BLOGGER FAVE.
Oh dear, guys. I think greeny hues might be the new red. The Chicmuse never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful clothes and photographs. I am still seething with envy over those Prada shades.
Whilst we are talking about chicmuse you might have noticed that the link to my blog is thechicmuse000. I honestly did not know that there was a blog called chicmuse at the time. I tried to change it but then people just got confused because the link didn't work etcetera, etcetera. However, if you type Pretty Passions, Fine Fashions into a search engine then my blog is the first result.

Supermodels

SUPERMODELS. Supermodels. The fashion industry would not be the same without them. So, below are some of my favourites either without makeup or with very little makeup on (just to prove that supermodels are human beings too!) I have also added a little fact under each photograph that I found very interesting when I found out...

Lara Stone, married to David Walliams.

Natalia Vodianova grew up in a poor district of Russia with her mother and two half sisters. One of these sister's suffered from cerebral palsy. As a teenager, Natalia helped her mother sell fruit on the street and later set up her own fruit stand with a friend to help her family out of poverty.

Freja Beha Erichsen is my favourite model at the moment. Not only because of her obvious natural beauty and excellent modelling skills and her British Vogue September issue cover but because she really is so interesting.  She has a passion for writing poetry and says that she would like to become good but says it takes years of practice. .

20 year old Karlie Kloss' first major campaign was with Marc Jacobs' Lola fragrance (one of my all time favourite scents) in 2009. It was a very natural look. She had her first Teen Vogue shoot at the age of thirteen.

Rosie has worked virtually everyday since she was sixteen years old. Starting out as a Victoria's Secret model the now twenty three year old has a blockbuster film (Transformer's 3) under her belt.
