celebrity edit: festive edition

Christmas Day is fast approaching but just in case you still haven't decided what to wear, here are some ideas from the stars.
Cheryl Cole gives this sporty look a festive twist with a burgundy baseball jacket with silver sleeves with a sparkly finish. Let us not neglect the shiny point toe heels that rest beneath the shiny leather look trousers. Although Christmas Day is often spent on the sofa with a box of Quality Street or other confectionery products, the sporty chic look is still open to sartorial opportunity. Going for a walk after a big meal is good though but you will probably have to change out of your shiny stilettos into some stylish wellies to do so.
Edie Campbell went for a more casual look for Love's Christmas party last week. This monochromatic and boyish ensemble compliments Campbell's loose hair and slightly out of place fringe to create the very picture of understated, effortless evening wear. Most people can put this look together without even having to buy anything new. Just wear a white t-shirt, black trousers, black heeled boots and a blazer of your choice. The striped print works well but it is not essential. I have a white blazer and I also have a black blazer with blue at the end of the rolled up sleeves and I think that they would both capture the mood of this look.
Aah, Alexa you've done it again. I LOVE THIS OUTFIT. She wore this to an afternoon tea celebrating the launch of Derek Blasberg's stationery range. Afternoon tea with Alexa Chung and Derek Blasberg?? Um, where was my invite?? Playsuits are an incredibly stylish alternative to the somewhat overdone festive mini dress.
THE SHOES. Look at the shoes... This outfit continues to black theme with a festive twist of cranberry red. The red jacket is sort of Chanel inspired but with cardigan-like proportions to it. I have a red boucle jacket from Topshop that could help me recreate the look but really any cardigan or jacket like thing in a bright colour will inject some brightness into the outfit which is really the purpose of this item.
Jessica Ennis showed off her super-duper toned arms at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards. A floor length dress is perfect for a very formal affair but if you are hosting and plan on rushing round on Christmas Day it is probably not the best idea.

Poppy Delevingne looks absolutely stunning in this sparkly outfit and manages to work classic festive glitter into the mismatched prints trend perfectly. The dots blend into the stripes perfectly. The patent black boots make the look not appear too formal.

Get the Look

Yes, there needed to be a whole collage dedicated to sequins and a whole collage dedicated to shoes. One day I would love to do a professional fashion shoot for all my Polyvore collages. I'd set the first one in a chic bar for a Christmas party, the second one at home on the sofa with family on Christmas Day and the last one would just be photographs of feet with the shoes on and with a festive scene and sparkles in the background and pieces of holly on the ground with fake snow and things.

I kept my promise about what I planned to do on Christmas Eve Eve. I curled up in my Jack Wills jumper, read Vogue, drank chai tea, listened to Fairytale of New York on repeat and watched A Muppet Christmas Carol.

I also read some more of Jack Kerouac's On The Road and finished Part One and made florentines with my mummy but we burnt half of them :(

I have also got addicted to Gossip Girl lately and have watched 5 episodes in 2 days of the first series. I usually find that I can never justify watching so much TV but Christmas is a time for a bit of relaxation and it's sooooo good.

You may or may not have seen the post I did about new year's resolutions but one of mine is to dress more like my style icons without losing my own style though. Today I knew that I wanted to wear my Jack Wills jumper (it was the first part of my 4 day outfit plan) so I worked around that with a navy checked Primark shirt and some high waisted Topshop shorts sort of inspired by Alexa Chung's style then I added some Primark pearls and Chanel lipstick for a touch of Coco Chanel.
